1. Orange oil from orange peels. Grate an orange peel with a small grater and rub the oil and small pieces of rind on your animal’s coat.

The following are various homeopathic cold remedies that have been used safely and effectively for centuries. Homeopathy is an ancient practice that is being revived in these modern times. The process might’ve changed slightly but the end result is still the same.
• Aconite napellus: symptoms are strong and come on rapidly, dry stuffy nose, tension in the chest, a scratchy or dry throat, and choking cough
• Allium cepa: burning or stinging watery eyes, a tickling cough, excessive sneezing.
• Arsenicum album: frequent cold and sore throat sufferer, weakness, restlessness, and excessive sneezing.
• Baryta carbonica: cold sufferers that catch colds repeatedly and are usually from getting too cold, frequent tonsil irritation and inflamed lymph nodes.
• Gelsemium: severe achiness and lethargy with a headache or migraine generally need this specific homeopathic cold remedy. The chills are generally restricted to the back.
• Natrum muriaticum: thick, clear mucus discharge from the nose, sneezing, inability to smell and taste, and dry skin with chapped lips.
• Nux vomica: is one of the homeopathic cold remedies that deal with the temperament of a person during the cold. Example: irritable, sensitive to light and sound as well as being very impatient.

HOW TO MAKE HEALING OINTMENTS!

Ointments or salve usually deal with a base of petroleum jelly, like for instance Vaseline. If you read back through the herbs and herbal remedies that I have written extensively on in the past, you can choose which herbs best suits your specific affliction and need. Once you have compiled a list of herbs (usually 2-6 herbs) for your issues, you are ready to make your ointment.

STEPS:
1. Take you petroleum jelly and heat in a double boiler. Make sure it is hot but not boiling. (start on high for a few minutes then turn to medium heat)
2. Add your herbs when the base is thoroughly melted.
3. Remember not to get it to a rolling boil or it may dry up quickly.
4. Slowly cook the herbs (medium heat) in the melted base for about 2-21/2 hours.
5. Remove it from the heat and strain it with a cheese cloth.
Let it cool and there you have salve or a ‘healing ointment’.

HOW TO MAKE POULTICES!

Let’s start with a comprehensive explanation as to what a poultice is. A poultice is a medicated pad or cloth that is wet or damp and can be heated or cold which is then applied externally to: stop bleeding, ease sprains/strains, inflammations, muscle aches, etc.

Now, making one is actually quite simple. A poultice can be made out in the middle of no where or right in your home. Take a look below for two types of poultices and learn how you can treat a problem without a clinic or other emergency outlet.

POULTICE TO STOP BLEEDING:
1. For an emergency situation with bleeding wounds; first clean wound the best that you can.
2. Next apply ripped or ground (fresh) yarrow, mugwort, or better yet cayenne pepper to the wound. Dried cayenne such as found in your spice rack is perfect so take it with you on any outdoor hunting, hiking or camping trip.
3. Keep it in the wound until bleeding stops and the body will take care of it from there.
4. But be sure to rinse the wound after a few hours from the time it stops bleeding.

EMERGENCY POULTICE
1. Any thin cloth can be used as long as it is clean. This can be a thin handkerchief, cheesecloth, whatever.
2. Add the herbs in a pile on top of the cloth.
3. Fold the cloth to keep the herbs in place.
4. Pour hot water on the cloth and let cool to the touch.
5. Wrap the affected area with this poultice and tie it to stay in place.
6. The tie can be any string, but in a hurry a belt, shoelace etc. can be utilized.

IMPROVE YOUR MEMORY!

Did you know that memory problems can merely be a sign of vitamin deficiency? It is true. There are some vitamins that actually improve the memory and brain function. Even in cases of dementia and Alzheimer’s the decline of one’s memory can directly have to do with the lack of nutrients consumed.

If your diet isn’t allowing the necessary nutrients a vitamin supplement can be used to stop the problem and significantly improve memory. B vitamins are a perfect example of brain optimizing vitamins. Studies show that they can reduce these types of problems even in aging individuals.

2. Sweet Basil
3. Catnip
4. Chamomile
5. Coriander/Cilantro
6. Horehound (boil the leaves and cool to room temperature)
7. Summer Savory (eliminated diarrhea/indigestion)
8. Thyme (upset stomach/indigestion/hangovers)

These are just my opinions. You should do your own research when trying anything on this site.
